How can I write about a man I've never known?
About a girl, as her story unfolds.
In the pages she writes of her life, a father's absence shown,
A man who chose to let her go, coldly disowned.
Michigan's distant shores, where his absence looms,
While he remains on the coast of her birthplace
with his other children, one little girls heart consumes
For she was left without a trace.
In the echoes of silence, her pen takes flight,
As she writes of a man lost in the night.
A father's absence, a void so deep,
In her heart's chambers, his memory does creep.
How can she weave a tale of a man unseen,
Whose shadowy figure in her dreams convene?
He chose to walk away, to turn and depart,
Leaving her questioning, with a fractured heart.
A father she yearned for, a stranger in her mind,
His absence a puzzle, a riddle undefined.
For secrets and shadows, he chose to bind.
A love hidden away, in the depths of night,
And a daughter unknown, cloaked in the light.
Through the pages of her life, she seeks to find,
The threads of his story, the ties that bind.
But how can she paint a picture so unclear,
Of a man who chose silence, a man she held dear?
His love to her shared in shadows, secrets it entombs,
A little girl hidden, in silence she blooms.
In the ink of her pen, she searches for his face,
In the lines of her novel, his absence finds its place.
A father unknown, leaving empty space,
She didn't know her siblings, she was robbed of that too
And then last year, her little brother died, leaving everything so blue.
The problem is she always thinks she has time,
but then its stolen away, the most vicious crime.
When she was little she would hold on to his letters, and seashells her sent
But the sound the shells made, would always remind her of the family dent
She would scribble his name
Share stories about him with her momma, and their life's cruel game.
A secret love shared, a daughter unknown,
In the corridors of her mind, she's left to roam.
Her novel now unfolds, each chapter a tear,
As she navigates life with a father not near.
She searches for answers in the depths of her soul,
But his absence, like shadows, continues to hold.
For you died before she ever had answers, and now she never will
You've now left not one daughter in despair
but now your two daughters are the abandoned pair.
Two girls left to pick up the pieces in the row,
of a story most didn't even know.
Then the winds of fate, they begin to blow,
As destiny's hand starts to show.
For both her parents, their journey has ceased,
Leaving her alone, to unravel their peace.
In the whispers of time, their love story unfolds,
In the echoes of silence, their secrets it holds.
Together they dance, in the tapestry of fate,
Now and forever, at heavens gate.
As she writes, she discovers, it's never too late.
To piece together the fragments, the memories untold,
And find in their story, the warmth to unfold.
For though they've departed, their love still remains,
In her heart, it forever sustains.
Yet amidst the sorrow, a flicker of light,
In her words, she finds solace, she finds her might.
For the story she tells is not just his own, or her own,
It's a testament to her strength, her spirit, and her own throne.
In the ink-stained pages, she finds her release,
A journey of healing, a path to peace.
Though he chose to let go, she's learning to grow,
In the tale of her life, her resilience shows.
So she writes and she writes, her voice ringing clear,
In the silence, her truth, she bravely steers.
For though he remains a man she's never known,
Her story, her life, is beautifully her own.
So she writes and she writes, with each stroke of the pen,
Their legacy will live on, in the hearts of men.
For in the tale of her life, she finds her own truth,
and the little girl whose broken story is worth telling will be beautifully sewn.
And for writing the tragic story of her parents, and her own
she will then be the girl, who is very much, KNOWN.
