His Angel

July 6, 2013

They retrain his brain

Break him down to rebuild him stronger

They crack the worst of habits

Take away anything and everything

To simply make him see

They have stripped him from humanity

Patrolled over every waking move

Morals soon differ, new ways emerge

Pedestals are built, higher higher

Respect climbing beyond the clouds

Experience triumphing that knowledgeable urge

Seeds are planted among the bridges of his soul

Expected to bloom, to grow

Required to feed, and frenzy

Incepting his very brain

Injecting unfeasible thoughts

Drugging him just as a hit or a needle

Disabling him from all comprehension.

They take him

Take his all

Take his heart

Take his head, and even his soul

They take him, take him whole

His steady thoughts begin to tangle

His strain manages to increase

His shoulders weigh heavily

His pain lingers on thereafter

Walls break, bear and cringe

Breaking maliciously at the very seams

The people, the faces

Mingle together, fade and blur

Defining all vagueness

One by one, two by two

They start to shift

Change and grow just to adapt to

Mutated spaces left unhindered

Between what once was, and now is

Routine then morphs into lifestyle

Questions rising from all ends

Even from within

They take him

Take his all

Take his heart

They take his head, and even his soul

They take him, take him whole

Squandering about

Dangling aimlessly as always

Directly in front of his desire

Reluctant to catch or hold

Those endless soul seeing eyes

She brings him back

Reality seemingly so distant

She reels him in

She finds him below, within

Keeps him strong, keeps him sane

She leaves her fingerprints upon his heart

Trailing like a treading vein

She keeps him on his edge

Promises to stay and remain his do or die

Brings him back from that unsteady ledge

And most of all, she keeps him treading in water ten feet high.
